Why has the world turned its back on this joyous wonderful uplifting song and dance called the Macarena?
After reading about its origins on Wikipedia just now I realized there could be a conspiracy theory of astronomical proportions.
And as usual it involves the Christians (namely Catholics) suppressing Muslims.
The song was originally created by Los Del Rio spontaneously at a party when they watched a flaminco dancer obviously rock their world with a dance. They ad lib'd the lyrics and called her MAGDALENA not MACARENA.
Back in the 11th century when southern Spain was controlled by the Muslims and called Andalusia they coined the word Magdalena to describe a woman as a promiscuous slutty prostitute, in direct relation to Mary Magdalene.
So naturally this would be offensive to Christians (everything in society in the 21st century is).
I think the song has died out slowly due to the Christian church slowly but surely pushing this blasphemous song out of society.
At the end of the day i don't know what bothers me more, The Macarena or the Church.
i'd say they are both equally annoying.
This is your best work yet. Im looking forward to some in-depth prose about the true meaning behind Miley Cyrus's "Cant be tamed" and also the mormen undertones of the Twilight series.
