Happy birthday would have to be the most annoying song in the history of music. I don't know anybody who likes singing the song, nor do i know anybody who likes it being sung at their birthday for them. Its old (1890's) outdated and needs to be updated for modern times with a modern rendition of it.
Even the most attention seeking people duck for cover or blush from shame when this song is sung for them.
I am sure it is because of the actual song people are embarrassed.
So this next part is hilarious, The Time-Warner Corporation, Warner Music Group purchased and own the rights to this song, and DEMAND royalties for it. Every time you see it sung in movies, $5,000 plus have been paid in royalties for this song, even if you sing it in a small private group you have to pay money.
This song is copyrighted till 2030.
This absurdness should be a sign to companies like BMG, SONY etc. to come up with a new and improved song that the world can enjoy and be proud of.
Are humans that retarted that they can't think of a better song after 130 years?
I say shame on society for turning its back on this issue and props to The Warner Bros for actually making money on something so common as the happy birthday song.
hahaha. xD
